About the role

Our client is a packaged-food company selling through e-commerce channels and major retail partners. The company is scaling fast and needs a Chief of Staff who can sit beside the CEO, turn strategy into weekly execution, and keep the leadership team rowing in the same direction.

You will own a portfolio of the company's most important problems including pricing decisions, retail expansion, marketing performance, contractor supervision, organizational design, and you will be measured on whether they move. You will have full access to the business, real authority to convene people across functions, and a direct line to the CEO.

You will sit in the rooms where the company's direction is set. You will work directly with the CEO and the leadership team on problems that genuinely matter to the business. The work spans Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance, with a heavier load on the revenue side. Expect to switch contexts often: a contractor update in the morning, sales data deep-dive at noon, a pricing call with a key retailer in the afternoon.

What you’ll own

Strategy and decision support

  • Act as a thought partner to the CEO - pricing, channel mix, hiring, capital allocation.

  • Run the annual and quarterly planning process. Translate the plan into goals, owners, and a tracking cadence the leadership team actually uses.

  • Pull the data, build the model, write the memo. Most CEO decisions in this role start with a document you wrote.

Sales and marketing execution

  • Support go-to-market planning across retail, e-commerce, and DTC. Make sure launches ship on time, with the right pricing, the right assets, and the right retailer story.

  • Partner with marketing on campaign timelines, brand consistency, and performance reporting across paid, owned, and earned channels.

  • Build the KPI dashboards the revenue team runs on - sell-in, sell-through, velocity, ROAS, contribution margin by SKU and channel.

  • Own competitive and category analysis using SPINS, NielsenIQ, Amazon, and Shopify data.

Operations and project management

  • Run the leadership team's operating rhythm: weekly staff meetings, monthly business reviews, quarterly offsites.

  • Take on whatever the CEO needs solved this quarter — a stalled launch, a margin problem, a new market entry, a board deck — and drive it to a result.

Communication

  • Draft board materials, investor updates, all-hands talking points, and external communications on behalf of the CEO.

  • Serve as a discreet, trusted channel between the CEO and the rest of the company, and between the CEO and outside partners — retailers, investors, advisors.

What we’re looking for

  • 5–8 years of experience, with at least some of it in management consulting (MBB or similar), investment banking, private equity, or a strategy/BizOps role at a high-growth company.

  • Experience in CPG, either through direct involvement or through consulting / M&A projects. You understand how retail buyers think, why velocity matters, and what a trade spend conversation actually sounds like.

  • Strong financial and analytical skills. You are comfortable in spreadsheets, comfortable with P&L mechanics, and you can build a model without asking for one.

  • Judgment with confidential information. You will see compensation data, board discussions, and personnel issues. None of it leaves the room.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.

  • Willingness to work US hours from India.

Nice to have

  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree.

  • Hands-on experience with Shopify, Amazon Seller/Vendor Central, or retail data platforms (SPINS, NielsenIQ, Circana).

  • Working knowledge of LLMs and modern AI tooling — and a habit of using them to move faster.

  • Experience across multicultural, distributed teams.
